How much would I make if I opened a company that makes Video Game consoles?

So if I opened a company that produces Video Game Consoles (like Sony,Microsoft and Nintendo), and if it would become very successful, how much money would I have after 5 years?

Nothing – you might be lucky to be breaking even after 5 years – and by that time, you’d probably have a definite need to invest in R & D to find the next, great Game Console design.

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have the market pretty much sewn up between them – your current design would not only have to best their models – but be accepted by the software houses, since they have to write games to play on your platform.

If you can manage to make that happen, your company might be worth several million in about 5-10 years – but remember the extreme dangers of industrial espionage, inter-firm rivalry, and being bought-out and shut down by any one of these console manufacturers. Y’see – these big companies might not appreciate added competition.
