dark elves
What are the difference between dark elves, wood elves and city elves?

I need to know about their lifestyles, looks, and relationships. I tried to find information about these elves but I’m having a hard time seaching for the right one. I hope someone could help me out. Thanks.

ooooK. time to hunker down and get into it. hehe

If we’re talking basic, generalized fantasy settings, taking most of my info from Dungeons & Dragons it’s like this-

Pretty much all elves are very thin, with large eyes and pointy ears. You’d be hard pressed to find one that wasn’t. More often than not they have little or no facial or body hair beyond head and eyebrows. Half elves ARE ussually hairy, and some use this to cover elf heritage (I’m looking at YOU Tanis!)

Dark elves, sometimes called Drow, are smaller elves with obsidion black skin and white or light hair. They tend not to have colored pupils, tho in some settings they have red or purple eyes. Most often they are associated with spider worship (Lolth), evil, and are known for thier love of black leather. Their society is *matriarchal*, that mean women in power, and men are little more than strong slaves and concubines. I doubt they have any problem with this. ;P
In Warhammer universes Dark elves are extremely pale with black hair, normal human size, and worship all sorts of demons. not freindly.

Wood elves are as much hippie tree-huggers as they sound. Some fantasies make them very tall 6′+, other make them short 4’5-5’8″ or so. Black hair and green eyes with pale skin is most common, but that can really be changed to anything to suit the creator. In the D&D movie elves were african american, very kool :D . In some mythos they tend to favor arcane magic, in others nature magic, again up to the creator, thought magic is ussually essential to thier very essence. Almost always they are good with bows and very often rapiers and swords. These elves, as with all elves, are very long lived, thier age of mental maturity ussually being 100 or so years, and thier lives ranging from 300yrs-infinite. In D&D these elves tend to float between repationships naturally, they are chaotic in nature.
In warhammer terms, these eles are fairly human-looking, awesome with bows and zelous protectors of the wild.

City elves are not a type I am entirely familiar with as a seperate race. Most often elves fond in cities are Wood elves who have just chosen not to live in the wild. In most mythos I am familiar with they are ussually powerful and wealthy, if only because they have so long to acquire that wealth. More contact with humans may lead to more relationships and half-elves, though many elves have a hard time understanding human’s need to get everything done RIGHT NOW! of course we dont have 300+ years to worry about it hehe..

Hope that helped you out, good luck!
