Is it possible to Buy Starcraft 2 online but install using a physical CD?
So my friend bought Starcraft 2 online and is downloading it, but it has been almost 24 hours and he is only at 30 percent-ish. Can he use my CD to install it and get the necessary credentials off of Battle.net?
Sorry dude, it won’t work unless he has his own cd key. I agree with the first guys opinion, but Blizzard is honestly the best company out there that can sell their pc games without getting them hacked or stolen through cd keys. Of course it still happens though.
When you put that cd in your computer to install, it will ask for your cd key, unless your friend has already been sent that cd key, If he used his own he would be fine (the game is actually made just to run on the computer without the cd being in it (part of the reason that it takes so long to install/download)).

If he has cd key:yes, it works
If he doesn’t because it was through the internet:no
